The event will be held for three days from October 1st under the theme of “The Spirit of the Nomadic People - The Glory of Great Goguryeo”  The first international horseback archery competition was held at Yeongrang Lake in Sokcho from October 1st to 2nd, with members from countries including Korea, the United States, Hong Kong, and Australia participating in a heated competition.

The Republic of Korea Hwarang KISA (Horseback Archery) Championship was held on October 10, 2004 at the Hwarangdo Experience Tourist Site (WHAF Training Center) in Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do. It is the world's first KISA (Horseback Archery) competition and the beginning of the KISA (Horseback Archery) sport.
